I shall never forget being baptised,
My fears so big I was so scared,
My heart was telling me it was right,
My thoughts filling me with dread.

The day came and I had to be brave,
All day I was nervous right through,
The evening came my heart I gave,
Know my obedience to God was true.

Time for baptism in water came,
By this time I was calmer,
Relaxed now and no longer scared now,
For my life to God was given.

Now I am happier in God’s arms,
To Him I trust with my life and soul,
Nobody else but my Lord can calm,
My very soul within my heart and body.

Philippa Hope-Horney

About Philippa

I am married to Rick and we live in a small town in County Durham. We have two dogs, a cat and two budgies. I am also an adoption survivor. In 1981 my son was born and I was then forced to surrender him. It took 23 years and reunion for my to find out that my son's adoption was legally known as a forced adoption and illegal but social workers got away with it because mothers didn't know their rights.
