Groundhog Day

18th May 2005

Today I got a letter from the hospital which I found a bit bizarre as it is on the lines of one their standard letters they send out. It is basically stating that my doctor has asked them to arrange an appointment with the gynaecologist and that my name is on the waiting list for an appointment and should hear in about 7 weeks. It feels a bit like a ‘groundhog day’ as it is similar to the letter I received when I was first referred to the gynaecology department. The only reason I can think of for being sent this letter is if the PCT had reviewed our case and that it had gone in our favour. I find that a bit odd at the moment as we were told it could take months before the case is reviewed and we haven’t heard anything to say it’s been dealt with. It has bothered me a bit so will probably ring up the hospital in the next day or two to find out what’s going on as I don’t like this ‘not knowing’ feeling. Both Rick and I can do without this added stress at the moment – I just want us to get on with our lives.”*The letter had been sent out by mistake so I didn’t attend any more appointments.  Nothing got resolved by the PCT and we got to the stage that we knew it wouldn’t.

About Philippa

I am married to Rick and we live in a small town in County Durham. We have two dogs, a cat and two budgies. I am also an adoption survivor. In 1981 my son was born and I was then forced to surrender him. It took 23 years and reunion for my to find out that my son's adoption was legally known as a forced adoption and illegal but social workers got away with it because mothers didn't know their rights.
