17th December 2010

Another week to go and it will be Christmas Eve.  This year I feel completely disorganised and completely stressed out.  Rick starting a new job probably didn’t help as we’ve had to do so much running around and getting used to a new routine.  I have got in most of the food in, last bits I will be getting next week which includes a fresh turkey which I will be getting from a local butcher’s.  Next week is going to be horrendous as I will be helping out over at the community hall for the resident’s association as Rick’s organised a Christmas Carol Concert for the 23rd December.

It’s one of those times of year that depression hits me hard.  This time I have been to the doctor has it’s really bad again.  I’m not sleeping very well and find it hard to get comfortable because of my hip.  The long suffering doctor’s receptionist is still trying to chase up my medical records.  My appetite is suffering so whilst it’s a quick fix to lose weight it’s not a healthy way.  So I’m back on medication which will take four to six weeks to kick in properly.

About Philippa

I am married to Rick and we live in a small town in County Durham. We have two dogs, a cat and two budgies. I am also an adoption survivor. In 1981 my son was born and I was then forced to surrender him. It took 23 years and reunion for my to find out that my son's adoption was legally known as a forced adoption and illegal but social workers got away with it because mothers didn't know their rights.
