Sore nose

11th October 2011

I had a ‘wonderful’ end to Sunday as Chyna head butted me on the bridge of my nose.  One of her teeth caught my nose and it bled quite a bit so I had to put a plaster over my nose.  All Rick could do was laugh.  My nose is still tender just to really cheer me up.

Today I had an appointment with the doctor about my back.  She is new to the practise and very nice so will ask to see her every time I need to go.  For the first time in months I was actually listened to and she read back on my notes.   Apparently the x-rays I had done last year show that it looks like I have a slipped disc which I didn’t know.  It does explain why I am in constant pain.  The doctor has referred me for physio again and has given me another prescription for anti inflamatories and medication that used to be prescribed for depression but now for pain relief.  She has warned me that it probably make me sleepy and to take it at night.

The doctor has mentioned about an MRI but doesn’t see much point in having that done as it is already known that I have arthritis in my back.  She would rather see if the meds work first plus surgery probably wouldn’t help much and may make the problem worse.  The doctor also mentioned I may need a hip replacement at some point but I wouldn’t be considered until it got really bad due to my age. At least she listened to me and discussed my options instead of telling me to just take killers.

Rick so a chiropodist today due to being diabetic so had to have his feet checked.  His feet are fine so won’t need to see her again for another year unless any problems crop up.

Before Rick’s appointment J-P was here to discuss the website.  He wants all the books that the church lends out to be catalogued and listed on the library section of the website.  I’ve got that job so J-P is going to bring the books here tomorrow night after we have been to the home group.  I’m quite happy to do that though.

About Philippa

I am married to Rick and we live in a small town in County Durham. We have two dogs, a cat and two budgies. I am also an adoption survivor. In 1981 my son was born and I was then forced to surrender him. It took 23 years and reunion for my to find out that my son's adoption was legally known as a forced adoption and illegal but social workers got away with it because mothers didn't know their rights.
